The lounge is spacious (30 square metres) and bright with a high wooden ceiling and old oak beams. There are double glazed windows on two sides (north & south) with electric shutters on the north facing side. There's also a double glazed door opening to the front of the house.

Under-floor heating plus a wood burning fire, which you shouldn't need to use for heating but it's a nice feature if the weather is dull (not normal in summer!) or you just want a bit of ambiance. The floor is of ceramic tiles. There are two comfy three-seater settees, ample coffee tables with side lights and a soft fluffy rug should you wish to lie in front of said wood burner.

For entertainment, a 43" UHD TV (new for 2019) with a UK Freesat receiver (TV & radio), a DVD/CD player and a selection of DVD's, including some very charming French films. There is a hi-fi system with a built-in Bluetooth receiver so you can stream your own music from a smart phone or tablet through the hi-fi speakers. We have hundreds of DVDs and books at home and you are welcome to choose from these if the selections in the house are not to your liking.

All the furnishings and equipment are like new and of course comply with safety regulations. Upon request, we can provide a child/pet gate to separate lounge from the kitchen or the downstairs hallway.

The lounge is connected to the kitchen/diner by an open doorway so never feels cut off and it's easy to bring a few more chairs through if you need to. There's the added advantage it's not far to get another glass of wine or lump of camembert so you won't miss any of the conversation. The loo is equally near.... luxury or what?
