|Annex To Terms & Conditions - Payment Methods & Third Party Charges|
This update 05 March 2015
Commissions & Fees
Neither you nor we need to pay surcharges to third parties to effect payment. Whilst you are of course welcome to pay by any method you choose, the amounts credited to our account must be the full invoiced sums. All charges, whether incurred by you or us, must be borne by you.
Our preferred method of payment is personal electronic transfer using internet banking which is secure, straightforward and free of charge to both parties. Your Booking Confirmation and Invoice will include full details of our bank account whether you choose to pay in UK Pounds or Euros. If you are cautious about transferring large sums of money this way you are most welcome to transfer a token £5 or 5€ and, upon receipt in our bank account, we will notify you of the successful transaction.
We are happy to accept, by prior agreement, personal cheques denominated in UK Pounds and drawn on a UK bank or Euros drawn on a Eurozone account so long as they are valid throughout the Eurozone. All cheques must be fully cleared prior to arrival and realistically that means 3 months. We recommend that if you are in the UK and do wish to pay by UK cheque that you pay it into our UK bank account over the counter at a branch office, rather than posting it to us. We do not accept company cheques, third-party cheques, bank drafts, holiday vouchers, etc.
Some forms of bank transfers are free of charge but others are not. Any transfer costs you incur are entirely at your own discretion and any transfer costs we incur must be factored in to your payment so that the amount actually credited to us is the full amount invoiced.
We accept PayPal only via their "Personal Payments" facility which is instigated by the payee. If you wish to use PayPal you must contact us for our payment details and to discuss the matter as, depending on the circumstances, there may be a fee, which will be your responsibility.
Credit and Debit Cards
Payment by Credit, Debit or Charge Card may be available via the third party websites. Any commission, charges or fees resulting are at your own discretion and any charges we incur must be factored in to your payment so that the amount actually credited to us is the full amount invoiced by us. Please note that third party websites might charge higher prices than we do if you deal with us direct.
Non-Sterling Transfers to the UK
Our prices are quoted in UK Pounds for payment into our UK bank account and under normal circumstances any currency conversion will take place prior to the UK Pounds amount being credited to our account. If you wish to remit your own currency to our bank for them to convert, you must send sufficient funds in your currency to cover the UK Pounds invoice amount and any fees or commissions levied on us as a result of receipt of non-sterling payments.
Euro Exchange Rate
An exchange rate for conversion of the UK Pound price into Euros for payment into our French bank account will be agreed. Your Booking Confirmation & Invoice will be issued in Euros, with no subsequent correlation to the UK Pound prices. We use the median of the buying and selling rates quoted by TTC Moneycorp Ltd, an established and respected Foreign Exchange Trader but should you prefer to use another method we will be happy to discuss it to agree a mutually acceptable rate.
For Eurozone guests, the Security Deposit will be a fixed sum of 120€. This will be returned, less any deductions for damage or loss, by cheque, drawn on our French bank account.
We will, according to circumstances, accept cash upon arrival for all or part of the rental charge and/or Security Deposit but you must provide a credible reason for doing so prior to arrival. If you intend to pay with cash you must obtain our agreement well before arrival and we may examine the passports or ID cards of all party members before permitting access.
If you have been invoiced in UK Pounds and wish to pay cash in Euros the amount will be calculated by us based on a demonstrable exchange rate as published by TTC Moneycorp Ltd's "currency charts". We will charge a modest uplift (1-2% depending on volatility) to ensure that the transaction is not detrimental to us.
Cash 2 - High Denomination Notes
If you are bringing lots of cash, please be aware that you will find it almost impossible to spend 500€ notes! They can only be paid in to an existing French bank account and the bank will want to know where they came from. If you are in this position, please discuss it with us in plenty of time and we will arrange for you to exchange them legitimately for smaller denominations.
Refunds (Cross Currency Transactions Only)
Notwithstanding any other aspects of our Terms & Conditions, if any refunds are agreed as a result of cancellation on your part or cancellation by us for your failure to pay balances by the agreed dates the following will apply where cross currency transactions are applicable :
Funds received in our UK bank account in UK Pounds, from whatever source or currency will be returned in UK Pounds on a one-for-one basis. Any fees or commissions incurred by you or exchange rate changes will not be factored in, i.e. if we received £100 we will return £100. Any fees or commissions we incur will be deducted from the amount remitted.
Funds received in our French bank account in Euros, from whatever source or currency will be returned in Euros on a one-for-one basis. Any fees or commissions incurred by you or exchange rate changes will not be factored in, i.e. if we received 100€ we will return 100€. Any fees or commissions we incur will be deducted from the amount remitted.
